General

1. Turn Marshals may not work on or repair cars.  Turn Marshals may pass a car to the designated work area for repair.  If a pit lane is available all cars must enter and exit the racing surface via the pit lane at all times.  Cars may rejoin the race after a repair is made.  Any cars damaged and placed in the infield will remain there until that race is over.
2.  All drivers must turn marshal the race immediately following their race.  Any driver not on time to turn marshal will be docked one lap off their qualifying time, and after three violations will be disqualified from the competition and no refund will be given.
3.  Race Directors will have ultimate authority over rule enforcement.  The primary basis for any rules decision must be based on what will be best for the majority of racers.  If an item is not addressed in the rules listed here then you should assume it is not legal.
4.  No cussing, yelling or general disrespect for officials or other competitors will be tolerated!  We expect everyone to do their best to have a good time and not mess it up for everyone else.

Additional Rules:

1.  Assume the following:  If the rules don’t say you can do it, you can’t.
2.  After all qualifying races cars must be placed in tech (Driver’s Pit) and drivers must proceed to their turn marshal positions. Substitute marshals are the driver’s responsibility and the race director must be notified of change.
3.  NO REVERSE.  If you use reverse, you will be assessed a 5 second stop & go penalty.  After 3 stop & go penalties in one race, you will be disqualified from that race and your car will be removed from the track.  No refunds will be given.
4.  No rough or “team” driving.  Anyone who is considered to be team driving or rough driving will be disqualified and no refund will be given.

ROAR rules used;   for Pro racing

1. Novice and intermediate can run any Ready to Run production 1/8 Buggy, Truggy or Production Monster Truck.

 2.  These rules are designed to create a level playing field for both electric and nitro at the local club level. These rules are to be run with the existing approved nitro rules as set forth by race management before the race.
Note: A dedicated electric class should be formed if there are 8 or more electric entries. If there is a dedicated electric class formed, Triple 10 minute A-mains should be run.

1/8 Scale OPEN Class Rules.
The 1/8 scale OPEN class standard is designed to allow an electric powered cars to compete with the nitro class cars in 15 minute mains.
During a mixed nitro and electric main the electric cars must take a 4 second pit stop every nine (9) minutes or one (1) battery change pit stop during the race. The 4 second pit stop is the total time the car must set on the pit rail or if a pit person is not available, the driver must come to a complete stop in the pit lane for 5 seconds.
Estimated battery change is 30 seconds. Races over 15 minutes would be unfair to the electric cars unless the nitro cars are going to take pit times totaling 30 seconds for every battery change.

5 minute race = No pit.
8 minute race = No pit.
15 minute race = One (1) four (4) second pit.

5 minute heats
8 minute B and lower mains
15 minute A main or Electric Only = Triple 10 minute A-mains
In an electric car only main, there will be no required pits.
Reverse is not allowed when there is a nitro in the class.

#5 The same existing dimensional specifications as the ROAR nitro car.

  1/8 Scale OPEN Class TRUGGY.

#1 Max Motor Rating = No limit.

#2 All motors used must be on the approved motor list or approved by race management before racing.

 #3 Max battery voltage is 6s 22.2volts.
#4 All batteries used must be on the approved battery list or approved by race management before racing.

#5 The same existing dimensional specifications as the ROAR nitro car.

We recommended batteries with a weight around 500grams to keep the electric cars about the same weight of the nitro cars. Always charge your LIPOs in a “LIPO Sack” or adequate fire container.
